Summary
ClipDrift is designed to collect as little data as possible. You don't need an account, and we don't build profiles of what you download.
What we collect
- Download statistics: the post ID, media type, quality and your country (derived from your network, never your exact location). These are aggregate analytics with no IP address or identifier attached.
- Failed lookups: the link you pasted and the reason it failed, so we can fix problems.
- Your IP address is used briefly in memory for rate limiting (to prevent abuse) and is not stored in our database.
- Messages you send through the Contact or DMCA forms, including your name and email.
Cookies and analytics
The public site uses no cookies of its own except a theme preference stored in your browser. If Google Analytics is enabled, it sets its own cookies with IP anonymization; advertising partners may also use cookies. You can block these in your browser settings.
Media files
Files are streamed from X's servers to your device. We don't store copies of the videos or images you download.
Retention and your rights
Analytics are kept in aggregate. Contact and DMCA messages are kept as long as needed to handle them. You can ask us to access or delete any personal data you sent us via the Contact page.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the date above.
