Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about downloading X (Twitter) videos, GIFs and images with ClipDrift.
How do I download a video from X (Twitter)?
Copy the post's link (Share → Copy link), paste it into ClipDrift and press Download. Choose a quality and the MP4 saves to your device.
Which links work?
x.com, twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, fxtwitter.com, vxtwitter.com, fixupx.com and /i/web/status/ links all work. You can also paste just the post ID.
Can I download GIFs and images?
Yes. GIFs are saved as MP4 (that's how X stores them) and images are saved in their original resolution.
Why does it say the post is unavailable?
The post is private, deleted, age-restricted, or from a suspended account. ClipDrift can only access public posts.
Where are my downloads saved?
In your browser's downloads folder. On iPhone that's the Files app; on Android it's Downloads (and usually your gallery).
Is there a limit?
There's a generous rate limit to keep the service fast for everyone. If you hit it, just wait a minute.
Is ClipDrift affiliated with X?
No. ClipDrift is an independent service and is not affiliated with X Corp.
